Center for Labor and Community

Embedded within the Institute for Social Transformation, the Center for Labor and Community at UC Santa Cruz is a research center dedicated to understanding and supporting labor movements alongside workers, students, and communities.

Your gift helps the center tackle the pressing issues of today’s workers and support research projects related to young workers, workforce housing, workforce training, and equitable economic development. Our work includes critical undergraduate programs like Labor Summer, a paid internship program that is training the next generation of labor organizers.

Donating to our center’s unrestricted fund helps us to continue to offer resources for organizers, run educational programs, and provide policy analysis for the communities we serve. It also enables us to strengthen our research partnerships with units on campus, including the Sociology Department and Community Studies Program.
