Your gift supports the Institute for Social Transformation, which serves as the Social Sciences Division’s central research and funding hub, empowering students, staff, faculty, and community partners in carrying out social justice work that transforms our communities and our world.
Founded in 2018 by Social Sciences Dean Katharyne Mitchell, the institute addresses critical social issues by funding faculty research through Catalyze Awards and Emerging Scholar Manuscript Workshops. We also provide students with research opportunities alongside faculty via our Building Belonging program, and fund off-campus unpaid summer internships through our Transforming Futures program. Your gift helps us continue this community-engaged work that promotes equity, access, and opportunity for all.
Donations enable us to find solutions to social and environmental problems by convening thought leaders, supporting innovative new scholarship, and providing space and resources for collaborative interdisciplinary research.
