Your gift will support the Latin American and Latino Studies Department as it prepares students to integrate ethnic and area studies that advance our understanding of Latin American and Latinx communities in this hemisphere.
In the LALS Department, we engage in transformative research and mentorship, including guiding first-generation students through academic and career planning. We use interdisciplinary methods to uncover how the Latinx experience is shaped by social factors through studying issues of migration, inequality, identity, race, ethnicity, culture, power, and knowledge across peoples and regions.
Donating to our department’s unrestricted fund helps us provide excellent student support and fund faculty and graduate student research that tackles social and environmental issues.
